Pricilla is a hardworking subsistence farmer dedicated to helping her family and community of Chongwa near Lusaka, Zambia. But diabetes changed her life forever. First, she lost one leg. Then, just this year, she lost the other. Faced with unimaginable challenges and fearing her independence—and even her life—was slipping away, Pricilla thought her future was written.
We promised her it wasn’t. Through Pricilla’s courage and determination, we saw the stark reality faced by individuals with physical disabilities in Zambia: limited resources, economic hardship, and a lack of support systems.
Her story became the catalyst for our mission. Founded in 2023, Priscillas Dream is a small charity formed to address the mounting drought and starvation that has never been seen before in Zambia due to climate change. We now plan to support those who are facing severe hardship particularly the physically disabled through farming, transportation, and fresh water.
